Arriving in Billings

Please arrive in Billings during the weekend prior to your clerkship start date. If you are staying at the housing provided by the Billings Track Office, please email the BTO and give them the day and time of your arrival. The house manager will meet you and get you into the house. Also, if you are flying into Billings, the BTO will meet you at the airport unless you are renting a car. A student who has their own housing will only be responsible to attend orientation on the first day of their clerkship.

Housing Information

The Billings Track Office has a house with six bedrooms and two bathrooms that is available to students doing one to four clerkships in Billings. Track students, who are completing at least five clerkships are required to find their own housing for the year. Orientation

For new students to the Billings area, there is a mandatory orientation at RiverStone Health on the first Monday of each clerkship. The start time is 8:00am and is located on the second floor. If a student will have more than one clerkship in Billings, they are only required to attend the BTO orientation for their first clerkship. Any following clerkships will begin with an orientation meeting with the clerkship site coordinator. History of Medicine Meetings

The History of Medicine meetings are informal social activities for WWAMI students and Billings preceptors. These meetings will take place around the middle of each clerkship. They are devoted to creating an atmosphere of intellectual and interdisplinary conversation around multiple historical events that have shaped modern medicine. The meetings will be hosted by different members of the Billings medical community and will include food and beverage.
